Make Your Voice Heard!
Are you a someone with important things to tell the world? Do you work for or promote an important cause, but lack the ability to reach a mass audience? Do you want to write for one of our sites? Each of our Site Editors are always happy to hear from people who have an interesting perspective to contribute to our mission and niche focus.
This arrangement is generally best suited to:
- business leaders in crucial industries, such as social businesses
- inventors, scientists and breakthrough product evangelists
- non-profit and NGO representatives
- authors with published books/other media on sustainability, technology, society, culture, media (social and otherwise)
- public officials (and their offices), and candidates for office
- topic experts in the offline world without the will to start their own lazy unread blog
Guest Writer Guidelines and Benefits
Guest posts must:
- be original pieces written for one (or more, over time) of Important Media’s sites (browse them using the dropdown menu at the top of this page).
- be non-promotional by their nature, but advocacy is fine.
- adhere to minimum editorial and formatting standards.
- not be republished verbatim, but may be referenced, remixed, expanded upon, and quoted liberally. (View our content license.)
We will provide you or your organization/team:
- a promotional link with your byline, and author page with an extended bio.
- a simple account and login, and an editor will review your posts before publishing them under your byline, on and agreed-upon schedule or ad hoc basis.
- tips, tricks, and training guidelines for using our WordPressL CMSL and makin the most of your blogging experience with Important Media.
- no contract to sign, and you can start and stop publishing at any time as your motivations dictate, at each Site Editor’s discretion.
Please note that the Guest Contributor role in our system is unpaid, but if you are planning on putting serious time into it, and need to get paid, for some people, a Contributor relationship may be a good stepping stone to a piece of our Editorial RevShare in our Freelance Author or Site Editor roles. It’s also a great way to gain access to our fledgling editorial community.
